This is a must event as the nationals will be sailed here (30/08 to 02/09).
Follow the example of the world champions get in early and do the practice.

This club has a good fleet of Tasars and a quick look at the world standing will show you
there are some very good sailors here.

Great place to sail, good facilities, easy parking good range of accommodation near by,
note for the Nationals book early it is a bank holiday, Cornwall is very busy - Sue and
I have already booked a small place not far from the club.

In 2012 there was no AGM - reasons give Chairman was absent notice period etc.,,,

John Lawton as ever did a stirling job of organising a meeting and pulling together these notes (click to open PDF).

AGM Nationals Meeting Summary

John Lawton opened the meeting at 9.30am and welcomed the members of TAUK present and explained that as the chairman, John Tripp, wasn't present due to work commitments and the required notice not given, an A.G.M. would not be held at this Nationals, but there will be one at the next Nationals.
Also , no accounts were available for this meeting, however Neil and John ( co-organisers from the 2011 Worlds ) believe a surplus (from the world's event) in the region of £1,500 had been passed to the treasurer which together with the £20 per entrant to the nationals of 30 boats ie £600 means that TAUK is in a relatively healthy situation. When the accounts are to hand, they will be placed on the TAUK website.
John continued by saying that this Nationals had been a great event so far. There are still a few more events planned for the rest of the year including a new venue at Port Talbot on the first weekend of October where an Open in April/May is also being planned.
A few of the 2012 events were well attended, 8 were at Torbay Week which was at the beginning of this week. Quite a few of the Tasar sailors present at this nationals have indicated their intent to attend more opens in 2013, so John explained that the plan is to put a list of events on to the website and asked that anyone knowing of any other events at their own club or a good regatta, should let us know about it. John also asked that members put a message on the forum if they plan to go to any of the events and also look at the forum at least once a week to see what's on and if any topics are being discussed on the forum that might be of interest .
The worlds are in USA in August, more later, so the Nationals are at Lymington on 31st May and 1st/2nd June 2013 with other events at Babbacombe, Porthpean, Torbay Week and Tony Paine is trying to organise the Inlands at Wimbleball in early October 2013.
A venue for the Nationals in 2014 is needed, so if your club is likely to be interested in hosting that event, or just putting on an Open weekend in 2013, 2014 or 2015, just let us know.
We aim to have a draft programme on the website by end of September/ early October, so when you see it, please diarise all events A.S.A.P.
The 2013 World's in USA were then discussed, with Jeremy Hawkins outlining the information he has obtained to date for the cost of shipping boats by container from the UK to the world's venue.
There are unlikely to be charter boats available, although there was a possibility of some australian boats being sent with a container cost of £900- £1,000 per boat plus a charter fee of the cost of a new jib.
Jeremy asked for a show of hands for who was interested in going, because he needs to know whether to aim for a 20ft or 40ft container. He went on to say that a firm financial commitment would be required before any bookings were made.
John then invited comments or questions from the floor.
Rob Dangerfield asked if we would consider having a ' Classic Old Boats ' section in the nationals, similar to other classes such as the Flying Fifteens. The matter was discussed and there seemed to be general agreement that it was worth looking into.
As the final race of this year's nationals, a long distance race around the bay, was about to start, the meeting closed after which Lionel Rigby distributed the dry bags donated by Mandy Stock from Signal Locker to each entrant.
