Felpham sailing club is a fantastic family run club that has many talented sailors and a great track record built over many years of  holding successful national and world events for large classes such as Topper, Solos, Blaze, Merlins and many others, see www.felphamsailing.co.uk We are very fortunate to be holding the Tasar Nationals here,a new location for our fleet,

There is plenty of affordable local accommodation and camping within a short drive of the club , parking and rigging facilities are some of the best and the club will be providing an excellent social programme.

The club is based right on the beach with a concrete slip for easy access onto a safe and sandy beach with unbeatable spectating for the non sailors. The sailing conditions are some of the best on the south coast with the flat Selsey peninsular and local coastal area working with the South Downs to generate highly reliable sea breezes of 15 knots, whilst just up the coast there may be nothing, a well known local feature and great for Tasar sailing.

They are holding their annual regatta over the weekend of 27th and 28 th June and have extended a warm invitation to the Tasar fleet. We and a number of other Tasars have already made a commitment to attend and want to encourage others to come along to have a pre nationals insight to the club and sailing water.

Can I make a plea to you all to post here, even if you are unsure about coming along to either the Regatta or Nationals to help generate interest.

Rod

Hi Rod
Unfortunately my travelling to events will not be as much as I'd like because Lizzie my crew is doing her A levels etc, but the Nationals are definitely booked in, as are Porthpean and Babbacombe.
Won't be able to get to the inlands either due to the above and guests arriving at Westcourt !

Babbacombe's extended slipway has been completed, so launch and retrieval is a lot easier now.

Hope to see you all there to try it out in June.

Cheers,
John

Hi all,
Guess what, we have a family wedding on 18th September!!!  What is it with weddings and Tasar Nationals?  But we are planning to come to the Saturday and Sunday races, given that it will make very little difference to our position anyway... We are excited about coming to Felpham, sadly unable to make their regatta as up to our necks in exam-ridden children.  There is even a chance that we will have sorted our daggerboard slot by then (don't gasp Mandy, how long have we had the kit?)

We had a great time in Milton Keynes (thank you so much Ian & Sue), first doing some Tasar training, then on the Sunday racing watching I & S sailing away into the distance and wondering whether we should have taken greater pains to notice that the bailer was open and the boat filling up with water... not good for speedy sailing in light airs... ho hum, here's to a nice choppy ocean breeze, we have put our order in for the 19th & 20th.

Cheers,

Margaret and Phil
