Tasar Email Address Auction >>> No1@tasar-europe.org

As a bit of fun we are offering the email address No1@tasar-europe.org (works as No1@tasar.org.uk as well) for auction to the highest bid form a Tasar Europe member. The winner will get a fully functional email pop3 box, 50mb of on line space, with full feature WebMail access and of course the ability to download to your own PC and email program.

In early October any member of the Tasar Europe Association will be able to purchase their own YourName@tasar-europe.org email address with full webmail access. All funds generated will go to the Tasar association. Then every email you send will promote the Tasar Association.

Upcoming Events

2nd and 3rd of August Scottish Championships hosted by Pentland Firth Yacht Club is the next big event in our calendar. This event is in one of the remotest parts of the UK but well worth the trip. The drive there through some of the best scenery in Europe makes it worth it on its own. Its a fair drive but well worth it, warm seas, great wind. Pete Ellis, Tim Knight, Colin Tait, Kevin Gibb, Geoff Henstridge and other great sailors are going so you are guaranteed some great competition or a great opportunity to learn. 16 Confirmed for the Scottish - 1 more and we will be the biggest 2 handed sailing championship in Scotland this year.

At the other end of the month 23 to 25 August it is the UK Nationals 2008 which are being held as part of the Ocean BMW Torbay Week. The UK Nationals 2008 Website is Fully Operational. Everything is ready for the nationals - Pete and Charlotte are doing the hard work on this. They have sent out two news letters via the web - if you did not get them talk to John Tripp or Pete (contact addresses are on the Tasar Association Page) - there are also copies of the news letters on the web site (News letter 1 News letter 2). Shortly after the UK Nationals we have the first mainland European event listed on the site the Nicky Bethwaite Challenge Cup 2008 Start 13/09/2008 Finish 14/09/2008, organised Egbert Gerlich, Location: Bad Zwishenahn, Near Bremen another great opportunity to see other Tasar sailors.

Then we have the last of the Scottish Travellers events, No 4, on 27 and 28 September, 3 races Saturday & 3 races Sunday, at a great location, Loch Earn Sailing Club. The traveller event is being held as part of their end of season final fling.

We held the last committee meeting before the nationals last night (9th. July). There is one problem - it would good to have some indications form more of you about who is likely to be participating. It does not commit you to participating or to the fees but it does make it a lot easier to organise when there is an indication of numbers. All you need to do to indicate your possible participation is to log on to this site and then click the button next to the event. (Note if you enter on line on the Torbay site for the Tasar Championships there is a cancellation fee of £15)

The AGM will be held during the Nationals weekend. The agenda, last years minutes, and a simple financial statement will be published on the web in the members area for you to review before the meeting. We need suggestions for new committee members, including Chairman, Web manager and others. Any ideas or volunteers please contact a committee member via the links on this site.

There is also another world event involving Tasars in 2009 the World Masters event in Sydney Australia. There is a link to the Australian Tasar Council site below with information in this even.
